Study on performance of compression engine operated by biodiesel fuel
The analysis of the performance of biofuel is aimed at evaluating the energy efficiency
of operating the engine with the use of biodiesel fuel as function of the fuelâs composition and
other physical-and-chemical parameters. The mathematical models and analysis techniques
known to the authors do not take into account the effect that the use of different bio-diesel fuels
has on the operation of the engine and, therefore, need refinement in terms of the mathematical
expressions and empirical formulae that describe the physical processes taking place in the
engineâs cylinders. The aim of the study is to improve the mathematical relations taking into
consideration the physical-and-chemical parameters of different types of fuel. The research
methods proposed in the article are based on step-by-step consideration of the mathematical
models of processes that follow each other, with due account for their possible overlapping, which
jointly have an effect on the engineâs output indices. The boundary conditions and parameter
increments are pre-set in electronic work sheets. Thus, it becomes possible, using the refined
mathematical model, to calculate the main performance indices of the diesel engine with due
account for the changes in the physical-and-chemical parameters of the fuel. The novelty of the
described approach is in the possibility, through the use of the refined model and taking into
account the data on the composition of the fuel and the design and operation parameters of the
engine, to calculate the indices that allow evaluating the efficiency of use of specific fuels in the
internal combustion engine under consideration. In results, formulas for the calculation of the
effective power of the engine, fresh air charge density, excess air factor, effective specific fuel
consumption and combustion pressure have been developed. Combustion pressure modelling and
experimental data is presented
Mass Transfer Mechanism in Real Crystals by Pulsed Laser Irradiation
The dynamic processes in the surface layers of metals subjected activity of a
pulsing laser irradiation, which destroyed not the crystalline structure in
details surveyed. The procedure of calculation of a dislocation density
generated in bulk of metal during the relaxation processes and at repeated
pulse laser action is presented. The results of evaluations coincide with high
accuracy with transmission electron microscopy dates. The
dislocation-interstitial mechanism of laser-stimulated mass-transfer in real
crystals is presented on the basis of the ideas of the interaction of structure
defects in dynamically deforming medium. The good compliance of theoretical and
experimental results approves a defining role of the presented mechanism of
mass transfer at pulse laser action on metals. The possible implementation this
dislocation-interstitial mechanism of mass transfer in metals to other cases of
pulsing influences is justifiedComment: 10 pages, 2 figures, Late
Kalkulacja wskaĆșnikĂłw wydajnoĆci maszyn zagregowanych z ciÄ gnikiem zasilanym biopaliwem
The existing methods for the calculation of the performance indicators of machine and tractor aggregates (MTA) do not take into account the effect of biodiesel fuel on their operation and therefore require corrections considering the key and associated factors. The aims of the investigation are clarification of mathematical dependencies in case another kind of fuel is used and development of a methodology for the calculation of the efficiency of the MTA. As a result of simulation of the MTA draft indicators, the effect of biodiesel fuel on the tractive characteristics of the MTA power unit has been investigated under different operating conditions.IstniejÄ

GPS Synchronization of Audio Watermarks in the Maritime Automatically Identified Radiotelephony
Audio watermarking (AW) technology in cooperation with GPS synchronization of watermarked frames is proposed for application in the maritime VHF communication for automatic identification of radiotelephone messages. Automatic identification ensures efficient messaging from the very beginning of a radio transmission, while eliminating the human factor inherent in voice identification. AW refers to inaudible embedding of additional data just into the post microphone signal, using standard marine installations without any additional radio channel resources. The designed algorithm is based on data embedding in the Fast Fourier Transform domain with the rate of 32 bit/s. The experimental prototype of the device is designed on the base of micro-controller development kit 32F429IDISCOVERY and GPS module NEO-6M-0-001. Designed system, applied for automatic shipâs identification, provides the full compatibility with the existing radio installation, and does not require replacement of standard VHF transceivers and operational procedures. Besides automatic identification the system may be used in the special applications, for example, by the threat of terrorist attack; generally contributes to navigation safety and information security
